And not a new player in the house? (Barring development/U23 members).

Do we know what (if any) Daniel's preferred formation is?

Think Philip Madoc as the U boat captain in Dad's Army.

Leads to the thought his English isn't very good. Hopefully not the case as I would like to hear from him.

That's a shame hopefully he will pick it up quickly and it won't have a negative impact on the message to the players.

I bet Stendel's English is really fluent, but he's keeping it to himself. Then if we don't do well, he can always blame the other bloke for misinterpreting.

According to Keiffer Moore in his interview the other day his English is getting better. I seem to remember when Mauricio Pochettino arrived at Southampton he needed an interpreter for some time on his tv interviews. He is fluent now though. I'm sure Herr Stendel will emulate that.

Jose Morais English was very good, it’s just a shame everything he said was complete jibberish.

Was interesting that the interviewer on Barnsley Player asked Davies whether Morais was the wrong appointment. Davies batted the questions back, but a fairly brave question from a club employee.

It would be good to hear something from our new manager. I’m not particularly concerned about lack of new signings. The new owners made it clear they weren’t here to splash the cash. They probably have bigger fish to fry with Nice and negotiating selling one of their best players for €25m+. Not sure they’ll be too arsed about £800k bids for Tom Bradshaw. But I would like some kind of reassurance from the manager. A few words on ifollow video after the Gainsborough friendly would be good. How does he see it going. Does he expect new faces in. Etc etc.

GG gave us the sound bites we all wanted to hear - players were identified whichever league we were in, but that identification was weeks/months ago. So obviously they want or believe we need players. If it’s a case that they are busy in the background and have a number of real good signings lined up but want to keep it quiet then fair enough. We’ll just have to wait patiently and judge them at the end of this window. Still a couple of weeks left. No time for new signings to bed in though, and if we lose one or both of Bradshaw and Moore it would be reasonable to expect or hope for proven League 1 replacements. But if it’s left to the last minute if we miss out and have to wait until January or rely on Ugbo type loans we could be well off the pace when we get a chance to rectify it.

It’s good to see the academy being strengthened, with some effort to get U23s in. If only 1 or 2 of them are offered longer contracts or break into first team squad then it’s worth it.

New players are not always the answer - ie Mowatt. Often a fix for fans to make them feel better for a few hours. Let's buy sensibly if necessary when the coach has had a good look. Plenty of talent in the squad and much rather see youngsters given a chance. Ultimately we'll prevail through teamwork not flashy buys.

Fair point. I'm very much of the opinion that Mowatt was bought as a sop to those who resented Hourihane being sold.
