86 years old and only stop going to Oakwell in recent seasons due to his failing mobility. A kind, loving generous man. Like many of you on here Dad took me to Oakwell and That was that. Singing Come on you Reds together in the old Brewery stand during the successful Allan Clarke and Norman Hunter eras are the main things that stand out. You could set your clock by us leaving our house in Kendray on a Saturday Afternoon to walk to Oakwell. I’m not religious but if there is a Heaven I know my dear old Mam will be waiting there for him with open arms. I couldn’t be there to hold his hand as he passed, but Know he understood. RIP dad
Condolences mate. When my dad passed away in 2004 (reds supporter from 1936) we bought a brick on the back of the ponty, it would be a fitting tribute for your dad.
Very sorry to hear that. RIP. Clarke / Hunter era was best time I went with my Dad, although he did come during the Premiership season too.
Sorry for your loss. I still tell my Dad how the footy is going in my head and he's been gone since 1994. Your Dad will always be there with you.
