    One thing that seems to have been missed was a clear second half penalty , we had a free kick and Pearson pulls Scowen to the ground by his neck near the penalty spot ....one to look for when the match goes on player .

    This is probably a biased view but:

    The Roberts one looked like their lad slipped and Robbo went over him.

    The one on Kent was a stonewaller.

    I have to disagree with you there. Look at the link below. It shows Roberts' arm is horizontal and the ball is in front of him. He's leaning forward as he runs and stretches out his arm, possibly to lean into Woods rather than handle but his arm's still out towards the ball. It was a 50 yard pass so it's not as if it was blasted at him from close range.

    But it wasn't a penalty. This thread is about penalties (which then reveals itself to be specifically about Roberts' penalties). Whether he deliberately put his arm out or not, it wasn't in the penalty area.

    I can't think of a game this season when he hasn't been in my top 3 for any MOTM. Yesterday I had him a bit behind Scowen but still well ahead of everyone else. In the air he looks brilliant but there are times when he needs to be composed when the balls closer to the feet. I think he feels he has to get to the ball asap when it's a forward's ball instead of just holding the man up, making him work and covering the goal.

    The point I was debating with SuperTyke was not whether it was inside or outside the area but whether it was a handball offence. I said that it was outside the box in my post that ST replied to. But that's not what the debate was. I thought it was a handball offence. ST didn't. That was the argument.

    Roberts looks fantastic when the attacks come straight at him suspect when the ball comes in from the wings or from corners. One of my favourite players though.

    My daughter's in the kitchen making play-doh cakes. I asked her what she thought and she said "I assume Hemsworth's created a thread in order to turn it round to criticise one of our players that he doesn't like. I imagine that it's Marc Roberts seeing as Winnall & Hourihane have been sold."

    "With specific regard to penalties tell him that we've been punished for every little error. But **** happens and with the management team we have, we'll learn and start to eradicate them."

    As an interested observer (still!) after all these years, it is increasingly depressing to read the constant jibes at individual players made by some who then don't show the class or dignity to acknowledge the responses from their fellow supporters.

    Seriously, depressing is the only word I can think of that fits this situation.

    Woods headed the ball at Roberts, his arms were up because of his natural running action. Unintentional, therefore no offence committed, the rest was a complete joke.

    If only we still had Mcnulty there. Then poor players like Roberts wouldnt get a look in.
