Don't blame them. I mentioned on here in the off season that we shouldn't make the same mistake that we did during the Flicker run of keeping faith with players who performed a great escape. We need better players than those who had a good run of form if we are to avoid the same situation again this season.

Struber has asked for 2/3 championship ready players in this window similar to what Hecky and Stendel wanted so i just hope it’s third time lucky and the board gives him the tools for the job otherwise it’s another relegation scrap.

That's one of those stupid myths that does the rounds.

He brought in Paddy McCourt, Jean-Yves M'Voto, Dale Jennings, Marcus Pedersen, Peter Ramage and Lewin Nyatanga that summer. He binned off Steele, Foster, Hassell and Harewood among others.

Those brought in most of them barely made a start as faith was shown in those that kept us up. It's general evolving to bring in guys to strengthen your first 11, those dropped strengthen the bench, leaving those no longer on the bench to be sold.

Either that or he'll be down at the Job Centre.

Have this discussion all the time. You’re right as he didn’t blindly keep faith with the players that kept us up and signed a load.

He didn’t bin off Steele and Hassell though. Both were in the squad the last game of the season.

Feel free to correct me like but I’m pretty sure the guys running the clubs social media are not responsible for the buying or selling of players.

I can picture it now. Running straight to Dane Murphy.

‘Dane, bongo87 and damnifeellikafrisbee22 have suggested we sign some players on Twitter. Have you thought about that yet or are you just sat around doing nowt?!’

Patience is a virtue. One that many of our fans still need to acquire.

    Picked by Danny Wilson.

Flitcroft ostracised both of them. Binned off. Same thing.

Was this the Mike Politt season? Steele still managed 30 plus games. Hassell meanwhile only played four games so think he was binned off by both of them :D

That season was such a waste. They’d stayed up the previous season against all odds after a change of manager and good run of form at the end, only to go into the next season and be so poor, changing manager again.

I really hope the very clear mirroring of that situation last season doesn’t continue all of this, otherwise Struber will be gone before Christmas and we’ll be down by Easter.

Wonder why loads of other clubs don’t do this as you’ve made it sound so simple

Keeps getting mentioned this, but Flicker signed about 7 or 8 players to start the following season. Someone put a list up last time, but it still keeps getting mentioned that we didn't sign anyone, why?

I don't think it was playing personel that was the problem. It was how they were employed. Apart from Kennedy and Wiseman I was pretty happy with that squad. Should have sacked Flitcroft sooner.

People can spin it whatever way they want but the bottom line is we are still playing with the same team that only avoided relegation by default. As for people crying patience, how patient do we need to be? Wev been waiting since the January transfer window.

Thats not really accurate in January we signed Solbauer who made a huge difference and Ritzmaier who played most games. Also our young players gained more experience. That side from January onwards was a mid table side.

This window so far the only first team regular we have lost is Jacob Brown and we have signed 2 experienced players in Frieser and Hilek.

We know that making wholesale changes doesnt work - Id love us to sign a proven striker but I dont know it thats realistic but other than that I dont have any complaints

Been here more than once and really hope we don’t fall into the same trap again. Think we’ve recruited fine from a defensive point of view it’s just the offensive side of our game that needs improving but unfortunately as we know that costs money and there lies the problem.

Barnsley fans are very patient were still waiting for kieffer moore to be replaced, not to mention the Jacob brown money that would be spent of players.

Agree with you regarding sollbaeur not sure how much influence ritzmaier had tho. We certainly plugged some holes in the ship but we were still sinking in my opinion.
