    Gutted. You're right.
Well, unless we get it right in the January window

Yes, in the sense of not bidding for him.
In the unlikely event his parent club accepts a 'silly' offer, then I'm a big fan of his & we should snap their hands off.
Otherwise, I believe we should put the money onto a left footed left back.
For me, Solbauer right back & Mads centre are a top championship combo this next season, but we have the clear exposure on the left.

It’s not a left back we need but a left footed centre half

I think we would really benefit from an old head up front to come off the bench as plan b, and impart his wisdom

    Someone like Glenn Murray

    unlikely I know..

Naby Sarr is available on a free from Charlton - he is a powerful left footed CB

Mads is 'ambipedstrous' :)and not weak with his left peg. I prefer to add a natural left back.

I'm drinking pesticide, but clearly hasn't worked ... grab some and enjoy :D
Solbauer is a right-sided centre back, OK - you see most of his sliding tackles or shielding the ball out of play on the right hand side.
But the point is, we don't have a natural left back.

Back to the OP and as an example, if we were prepared to spend up to 750k on Ludewig, I'd rather we put that towards £1.5m on Leighton Baines ;)

The same Leighton Baines who retired yesterday and for whom £1.5m would pay maybe 5 months of his salary. Maybe.

Sollbauer is a big centre half, not a full back. A full back needs to be quick and agile, while he could do a job there, he's a lot more suited to the centre.

I've already said that Jordan Williams is my right back and I agree that Solbauer isn't a right back. You're just being pedantic - get thi pesticide darn thee!
Talking of Baines' retirement is equally pedantic - just an example of an experience, left-footed left back. I could have said £1m on Friend, but for all I know he's injured :p

Didn’t realise we’ve had a second improved bid for that Lyndon Dykes rejected

A dead ball specialist, i,ve never seen a team look less threatening than barnsley from free kicks and corners, everything just floated into the box , meat and drinks for centre backs....

Somebody to attack em when they do get in as good centre half’s we’ve got attacking is definitely not their forte .

This is a must. Oduor seems to be the best from what I saw last season, but if he's not going to be a regular starter then we urgently need somebody. And, on a similar note, if we're going for long throws into the box then Jacob Brown should be in there rather than taking them.

I wouldn"t mind trying to get James Bree back from Villa , he always impresses me when I watch him & of course the forgotten man Tony Sibbick might come into the equation , he too could benefit from Solbaur"s influence

Well - since you’ve asked I’ll tell thi.
    Present Squad.
Woodrow - is likely to go - so a replacement.
Mowatt - hopefully will go - so a replacement.
A quality good season long loan signing from the Premeir would be good here as this role is pivotal.
Brown - redeployed in the wing back position he is best at.
So a replacement quick striker/winger needed here.

    Additions to the Squad.
I think we could allow Ritzmaier and Bahre to leave that will allow openings for another midfielder to join.
Other than that we are desperate need of a target man.

So all in all - depending on how many leaves - if we get 4 or 5 new players in then it will inject more belief and quality in to the squad.
And as it happens - that’s the number that Dane Murphy has mentioned.
