I’ve had it. Found it awful tbh weird feeling a camera prodding your insides. Wouldn’t drive afterwards not worth the risk
I have had camera up bottom and down throat (not at the same time I hasten to add). Only discomfort for the latter was getting the camera past the 'gagging reflex' when they are pushing it down. Once clear of that (it only last a few seconds) the connecting tube doesn' feel bad. Just try to relax, breath normally and think of something pleasant like lazing on a beach. It does feel strange when they move the camera around inside but it is a similar sensation to when you haven't eaten for hours and you get rumblings (just don't think about the Alien films and you'll be fine!! Camera up bottom is worse because you have to drink a God awful gloopy liquid the night before (over a litre) which absolutely cleans you out and I mean clean to the point where after the 3rd or 4th visit to the loo you are shitting absolutely clear water (all less than an hour after drinking said liquid. Also nothing to eat or drink (except sips of water until after procedure) Strangely some weird people actually pay to have colonic irrigation as part of a 'detox' program. Watching the video monitor was weird looking at the camera view progressing up your innards live on TV!! Personally I find a few beers and a curry have a similar effect but the 'medicine' is more enjoyable. TN and Orared, you have my respect and admiration as a friend had what looked like a closed umbrella pushed up his sausage which was then 'opened out' and withdrawn in order to take a 'scrape' as the doctor so delightfully called it. My mate called it something far less repeatable. He also said it was agony. Surely it is a perfect example of why it should be a 'wake me up when it's over' procedure. Some doctors into S&M must have seen the torture scene from 633 Squadron and thought 'that looks like fun' !!
Looks like everyone is affected by it differently. I had it done at Rotherham about 5 years ago and i was gagging all the way through. Nearly throwing up every 10 seconds. Really felt embarressed but the nurses said alot of people react like that. After it was over i felt fine, slight sore throat and that was it
Well, when I went for mine I asked my grandma how it was as she had had it done a few times and she said it was fine, you barely felt it etc etc. I was in for a right shock when I was laid on the table gagging. She then told me afterwards she was just trying to protect me...
Had one mate. Really good advice is to feel the tube with your tongue and move it about a bit. Gives you a small feeling of control which helps to stop gagging. Good luck.
Reading some of these comments I feel a lucky boy - last week I had some dye passed through my arteries to assess issues I have regarding aortic regurgitation and a narrowed artery. The incision was made on my wrist as opposed to my groin. I may need surgery - this sounds eminently preferable to some of this stuff............
You'll be OK buddy. Just try to relax, do everything they ask you to do and I'm sure you will be fine. Good luck pal.
when I had mine done our lass was present, when she saw the camera/probe she said " Is that it ? " well I am 'MASSIVE' tha knows
