Claiming they've been found guilty and announcement will be made tomorrow. Most seem to think 12 pts penalty, some are suggesting as many as 21 pts.

I have a horrible feeling that the source of these new rumours is the Alan Biggs tweet where he is speculating about what the deduction might be, if one happens.

I hope I’m wrong but it’s starting to feel like we aren’t going to get a decision while the season is going on.

Wishful thinking I reckon. No way will the EFL have the balls to issue a penalty like that with only 4 games of the season to go.

Not the EFL though is it. It's an independent commission, the EFL give them a guideline to what the punishment should be but they have been very lenient with everyone else which is why the EFL always appeal the decision.

21 points is the maximum they can get, 12 for the offence and then upto a further 9 for how they have helped with the investigation. I think the fact that the 3 directors that had personnel charges against them dropped could be a telling sign unfortunately

Independent commission also has a record of being more lenient, in reality I think best outcome would be 12 points.

Yep. That's what I was implying regarding the independent commission. Even if it's 12 points that takes them down to 40 and bottom but will it be a Wigan scenario where it is applied after the final standings.

I cant see it myself - I wlll be amazed if anything like a 12 point deduction is applied to Wednesday this season - Think its more likely to drag on until after the season finished and any penalty applied to the next one

Reading what Luton got 30 points off for, it sounds very similar to me to what Wednesday have done :D

Points deductions are a complete waste of time unless they lead to relegation. That should be the automatic punishment for any Financial misdemeanor. Teams should carry on playing for the remainder of the season so their results remain relevant and to give them time to appeal. Any club trying to buck the system by going into Admin near or after the end of the season should automatically be demoted and the losing Play-Off finalist promoted.

    Tin hat at the ready!

I agree and also any side that was already going down should drop 2 divisions rather than just the one

Expect an announcement soon. Wendy's odds to go down have been slashed.[IMG]

That's Betfair though, isn't it? I'll be more interested when Ladbrokes or Coral start changing their odds.

Looks like it yeah. I've had a look at "normal" bookies and none of them have a relegation market. Wonder if they're all suspended pending announcement.
