I’d hazard a guess 1. “the club” is worth exactly the same as it is now without Oakwell, as it doesn’t own Oakwell. 2. Exactly as above 3. That’s the gamble. They don’t want to play elsewhere but without ground ownership they have no massive ROI
Republic of Ireland? Rate of Interest? King of France? That's the trouble when your acronym is shared, and when you're dealing with thickos like moi. S.O.Z.
Can't see this happening. Even our lot, who in terms of football knowledge, seem about as sharp as marbles, wouldn't try this on.
Being dense... How do 2 EFL clubs share a single ground? How does scheduling work for matches played on a Saturday/midweek cup games etc ? Even if the EFL can sort that. How would the pitch stand up to twice as many matches being played on it?
It's Tykes Talk - don't worry about it. As Father Ted would have said to some of their contributors "careful now, don't let your brains go to your head."
Its been done a few times - Coventry did it at Northampton and are now doing it at Birmingham Fulham and QPR did it recently as well - it just needs putting into the fixture generator to make sure they arent both home at the same time. Id be gutted if we did it and that would be the end of my Season Ticket if we do that when we get back to normal
It's happened many times in the last 40 odd years, a few of them involving Coventry in the last few years. Hence it's doable otherwise the FA/EFL wouldn't permit it
They do it with Wednesday and United, Wednesday and Barnsley, Liverpool and Everton, Man City and Man United. The two never play at home at the same time even in the cup.
they don't ground share... I was replying to Tekkytyke talking about how can 2 clubs share a ground......
Thing is with me, I’m never slow to tell supporters of other teams from Barnsley that they can’t get supporting their teams what I get supporting Barnsley. They are my home town club where I was born and bred and I’m immensely proud of that. Take my team out of Tarn and I would find it difficult to continue.
Fair enough. I thought you were talking about arranging fixtures so that 2 teams weren't at home at the same time. I suppose it doesn't really matter whether they ground share or not. The principle is still the same I.e. no great effort required to keep two teams separate and schedule the fixtures. I suppose in essence, I'm agreeing with you.
