An English man who follows football and supported England in the past?

Of course he should still support them! It would be shameful to stop supporting Barnsley so it is shameful to stop supporting England. Real football fans never desert their teams.

I wouldn't stick the knife in if we were developing a new playing style or see some kind of progress and improvement.

Like with Barnsley, we are far from a finished product and will lose games but you can see what we are doing has a plan and a purpose.

Who says I followed them in the past? I'd never stop supporting Barnsley because they're my team and I support them through thick and thin however bad it got.

England never have and never will be 'my team' I have got no love for a bunch of players who are more bothered about money and hair care product adverts. I am not the only one. From what I can see you're in the minority here, instead of preaching to us go have a World Cup qualification party or something

I reckon Johnno would have qualified from this group though. That's an exaggeration but you get my point. You have to admit, the football is not good to watch. Southgate is another one of the V-neck brigade - got a coaching badge, boring football and hides behind meaningless stats like passes completed.

I'm not saying that, but let's not pretend we're mint when we'd be behind Scotland in the table if it wasn't for injury time goals. We're a million miles behind teams like Germany.

Some of Hecky's tactics this season have been poor and we were completely useless against Bristol, Sheff Utd & Villa.

England and Barnsley are not too dissimilar. The difference is people give their clubs a chance and stick by their club where they wouldn't with England. It is a different principle for the same thing.

in the 13/14 season we had a load of primadonnas who couldn't kick a ball. I just do not see a valid reason for not supporting or constantly berating your own country

I'll be supporting England just as proudly as our travelling contingent. I'm going to get hammered in my back garden and then throw my patio furniture at my neighbour.

Barnsley are my local team and I love everything they stand for.

England are a corporate joke and epitomise everything that is wrong with modern day football

Germany are a fantastic side and there is no shame in saying they are a better team.

For me scoring late goals is a positive, a sign of character in the team.

Because they all play in the premiership?

Players get accused of lack of passion but everyone seems to conveniently miss things like when the whole team piled on Harry Kane after his goals at Hampden Park and last night.

End of the day you love England and supporting them. Great. Your choice.

End of the day the majority of us think they're completely boring to watch and would rather do something more enjoyable. Our choice.

    Go enjoy the 'amazing achievement'

I'm looking forward to seeing them finish bottom of the group, if only for the reaction of people like the OP. Will probably stick a few quid on it to give me extra reason to root against them.
