    Says on sky sports app fulham midfielder tom crainey 25, wanted by villa valued at 10million. Just saying wat are we thinking. The club dont seem to know the value of players

    Henri Lansbury is a midfielder who is out of contract this Summer. I believe Forest turned down a £2.5million bid from Derby for him recently.

    The length of contract left is the primary determinant in player value, when form and ability are such that another club wants them.

    So you would buy a player for £10million on 29th June, but if you waited until the next day he would be free?

    Daft example I know, but like it or not the length of a contract DOES determine a player's value.

    4 to 5 million we should ask. 10 if he had a longer contract
