Wonder what it means for Bree and Hourihane. Elmohamady, Hutton and Bree RB Lansbury, Jedinek, Whelan, Gardner, Bakuna, Hourihane CM Reckon Conor will be ok but Brees development going to nosedive if he plays second or third fiddle
Its looking that way - he should have either stayed with us on an improved contract or hoped for a Prem club to at least take him and send him out on loan. I doubt he will get as many games as Winnowt next season so that will be 2 of our best players taken out and paid a fortune to sit on their backsides - still it means they arent playing for dangerous sides like us
More like average age over 100! Are they opening a care home for the elderly? Terry? Now Whelan? It will be Dion Dublin next.
Just the usual stock-piling of proven players to try to guarantee promotion without resorting to actually having to build a squas and coach them to success. Thing is, the likes of Steve Bruce (who I actually quite like) will get more credit and respect for buying their way out of the league than the likes of Hecky would get for moulding a great young side and finishing say 10th. Shame. Regarding Bree... it made a reasonable amount of sense at the time but the question was always there regarding playing time. Villa need promotion and will buy any proven palyer they can to reach that goal. James Bree's development will come a distant second on the priority list. He'll need a loan spell if confined to the bench for long periods. He still has a lot of developing to do to realise his potential and needs games.
I really really dislike Bruce as a manager. His spend, spend, spend approach to management masks his (many) shortcomings as a manager. Give me Hecky any day.
