Just over 1600 tickets sold according to their official site. Decent considering the distance but I did expect them to bring a few more. Always had a decent following and been on top should help. May reach 2k for Saturday
It's a fine following tbf, December, not a new ground and a bloody long way. Can remember Brighton only brought 1,200 or so when they were top of the championship in March 2017, and they supposedly were getting 25,000+ at home.
It will be pay on the day as well, no doubt. They could easily bring more than our nearest rivals the Pikeys
We need to score first to get crowd going as at times the support at home is shocking. Yet away support fans brilliant
Dare I say pompey have an awful record at Oakwell? https://www.soccerbase.com/teams/head_to_head.sd?team_id=2049&team2_id=208
Brilliant following. Less than a fortnight to Christmas, weather to be barely above freezing, a ground they have been to many times and a long way to come for a third division match. Respect to them and oh it would be funny if Donny bring less.
Some interesting " reunions" on Saturday. When he first left Leyton Orient, Victor had a trial at Portsmouth but was not offered a contract. If he gets on the pitch, let's hope he can show Jackett and Co what they have missed.! There's also some ill feeling between one of their players Thompson and Mowatt. When he was on loan at Oxford, Mowatt took a penalty and hit the post, which resulted in Thompson taking the " rise". Mowatt responded by hitting him which led to him being sent off. Hope they have both put that incident behind them and Alex can hurt them in a more positive way re- by scoring the winning goal in our 2-1 win.
Hope they don’t housebrick my white cortina from Harborough hills bridge like they did in 1981. It was a good job that the metal on the cortina was harder than the brick.
