I'm not his dad but did you see how hard the wind was blowing down that side of the pitch? I reckon it blew the ball away from him so he did his mid flight scramble. He (possibly) lost us 2 points midweek but got us 1 back today.
No I did see the wind, but also on the particular incident we’re talking about the ball still was on the edge of the 6 yard box, quite central too. Should be collected every time. I don’t want it to sound like I’m saying he had a stinker though, he had a really good game today.
I made this statement at the beginning of the game. His stops today were better than any premier league goalkeeper I would say definitely man of the match It is his decisions on how to clear the ball. He is doing less short passing but his long balls when he decides are wayward, and even Murray nodded his head sideways This is my opinion and I take the flak But I repeat his shot stopping today was out of this world
I'll go on record and say I think he's our biggest asset (Inc Mowatt Cauley etc al) transfer wise. He's only played a handful of games and will go on to play Premier League football. Goalies mature, he hasn't yet. His shot stopping is top drawer, his kicking and distribution is very good. He's played and playing in a bottom third team. He's young and will only get better and better. Odd mistake yes. But name one who doesn't, internationals included. Well done today Jack lad. MOTM.
