These clowns arnt intelligent enough to come up with the idea of even trying to get someone like Warnock in short term

He does, been down there years and will not be moving back up to Yorkshire!
He's still also got a place in London from when he managed QPR and Crystal Palace.

Head down winger is exactly how I remember him lol. No finesse, just head down and race for the byline. Everyone called him Nocker at that time.

Absolute zero chance we’ll get Warnock but if by some miracle they managed to pull this off I’d definitely change my views on the current owners

If they gave him the job and let him sign who he wanted (within reason, sticking to budget of course) in January without dictating they have to be under 23, then I will change my view on the owners.

    They won’t, so I won’t.

If Murray is still in the job end of international break it’s his til end of season and if that happens my 60 year career will come to an end the end of January

Completely agree with this post, and the frustrating thing is, if the board got Warnock on board until the end of the season, gave him sensible money to spend in January and brought in some experienced loans, there is a possibility that we would stay up. I understand that the initial financial layout may be an issue, but surely remaining in the Championship would be more financially beneficial than relegation. I am also aware that there are no guarantees, so would the board be prepared to risk this move? I would say not, however I am the eternal optimist, after all, I’m a Barnsley fan!

Would absolutely love it sadly there’s probably more chance of platting fog under these owners.

On a wet cold Tuesday night stood on the slag heap that was the kop... against Hartlepool I recall, the ball was rolled out to Bob (by Roy Ironside? )and he proceeded down the wing like his arse was on fire in front or the (then) main stand , went round each defender (more than once I seem to think) and blasted the ball into the net. There were a few seconds of stunned silence, 'cos no-one could believe what they had just seen, before we started jumping up and down and going mental. Does anyone remember that goal and game? I don't remember much else from that night as I was so cold and wet but I think we won 4-2??

I think you're right about Bob Earnshaw.

Anyone remember the Barnsley 3 Exeter 4 in 1977 when we were 3-0 up at half time. Pretty sure Warnock played in that game and might even have scored?

Certainly do remember it! Back in the good old Jim Iley days lol. 1977 would be around the time Warnock was playing for us so he probably did that night.

I was 15 at the time and lived in Holmfirth. I used to travel to games with my Dad but he was away on business so I got the bus with a change in Scisset I think. I remember getting home very late and very disappointed!

If I could spend 2mins with N.,W. I would like to ask him if he thinks he's got what it takes, just how good a manager are you. Take the job & let's see Mr Warnock, pleeeeeese.

It flies fully in the face of what our board/owners want from us.
Why would they want us to stop up when all the money is to be made from having us relegated and players sold as a result.
Heaven forbid Warnock kept us up, we'd be in seventh heaven and the board would self destruct. Anyway, Warnock would have several choice words to say to them along the way, they wouldn't like it, he'd get sacked and we'd all be pissed off... again.

Why can I say "pissed off" but not "***" ?
And that word is F A G, as in cigarette.

I was there, apparently the rule was the ref stands on the centre circle and if he can see both goals it's ok. Behind the goals though you couldn't see the other goal
