I remember that one, although my memory has Glyn Riley bombing up the wing and putting the cross in, not Warnock.
I'll miss him, in a way, there is no other manager I've loved to hate as much as him, and I always say that I am glad he has never been our manager. His football is shocking, about as, entertaining as Big Brother, and he is no stranger to the dark arts - remember him telling his players to get sent off against West Brom. Never liked him and never will I'm afraid.
Wasn't Derek Bell later than Brian Joicey? I thought Bell was signed by Clarkie and thought Joicey had finished by then?
Yep I think so. Went on football special as a 14 year old and it was that foggy we could barely see half way line. Luckily the goal was at our end! Joicey did go off I’ll, I think he suffered a stroke and didn’t play again. Bell defo got winner with a diving header.
Brian Joicey suffered a stroke whilst playing at York in November 1978. Derek Bell scored the winner at York the year after. The power of Google
Sorry but that’s defo wrong. Joicey suffered the stroke the same game that Bell got the winner. We didn’t play York the year after cos we went up to the 3rd division.
I thought that but according to Wikipedia Brian Joicey suffered a stroke in November 1978 and Derek Bell played for Barnsley 1979/80
Wicki is wrong then we were promoted in 1978/1979 season with a strike force for most of the season of Derek Bell and Tommy Graham Joicey did suffer a stroke at York in November a game we won 1-0 - I dont know who scored as I wasnt there but it could easily have been Bell
I was at that game. Typical Alan Clarke cheating tactics. Foggy as buggery so we played in ......all white! Bell ghosted in for the winner. Loved Clarkey.
I think you're being very kind and generous towards me, old mate, and I appreciate it. Unfortunately, my footballing memory is nothing like what it once was.
