In my lifetime, I can't remember many seasons when we typically played well when we won.

Promotion seasons I'll give you, but they're few and far between.

I've seen us play well and not win, and play crap and win. It's just football. It's nothing new. It's not a gift we had but lost.

I know exactly where you're coming from. This is just you trying to enforce your view that the club has been in stagnation for the last 15 years or so, which is highly debatable.

    Two points to make:

    1) He created the thread on the basis of watching half the match, so to say it's the worst for a long time is quite ridiculous.

    2) He's a WUM and everyone on here falls for it.

We didnt play well against Liverpool or Chelsea, defended well. Didnt play well when we beat Swansea in 06. Didnt really play well against Gillingham t'other week. Results are the be all n end all.

I think it is too far to say that only the result ever matters for a Barnsley fan.

Nudge I think is going too far in saying both the performance and the result always matter.

Agree. Take the Coventry game which was a blinder in my opinion (The comments on here about how crap we were. Were quite ludicrous) both teams going for it but I felt aggrieved at the result (look at the stats.) Yesterday’s game was poor in comparison. Fleetwood fans probably felt aggrieved. But who cares.

Stendel is a good manager, said he had tactics to cope how ever fleetwood played ,Coventry high pressed us and we tried to play through them, fleetwood do it so we play over the top of their press, least he got a plan b ,old managers never changed way we played

I wouldn't want any man coming round to mine for a kiss and a cuddle to be honest. Would take the shine off any victory.

If I heard that you had decided to stop posting it would cheer me up a bit though.

Both Fleetwoods manager and fans on Facebook thought they were great yesterday, yet Davies had very little to do.

They scored, had a deflected cross pushed into the side netting and a hopeful job pushed over the bar.. 3 attempts on target in 90 minutes.

Main difference between yesterday and coventry for me is that we did put our foot through the ball. That's not long ball football, it's getting everyone behind the ball and defending properly.

At coventry we didn't do that, and kept getting caught in possession.

I'd say lessons have been learned. Apart from the dodgy start we were solid, if not pretty.

Besides that, I haven't seen any complaints about the long call to Moore that resulted in us taking the lead.
