It seems like a bizarre decision to get rid of a head coach at such a critical stage of the season, but there have been signs of the stress he was under. Someone wrote about him swearing in general at the West Stand during a game. The players have seemed under stress and scared of making mistakes. The removal of Collins is a sad thing and makes our qualification for the playoffs neither more, nor less likely. Maybe the players will be able to perform with more freedom now that he’s gone? I wish him well with the rest of his career and thank him for the games that we won and for getting us into such a commanding position before the last eight games. I would have Hecky back in a heartbeat and back him for a number of seasons. That would be the sensible approach, but I suspect that we’ll get another rabbit out of the hat appointment. Looking forward to Wembley COYR!!!!
Long way to travel on his push iron....tek him15 minutes from his gaff in tarn to Oakwell.........sithi.
"Hi Hecky, It's Sunderland, do you want the Job" "I'm banned from driving. In addition to the huge sum you are paying me, I'd need you to employ a driver for me so that's an extra 25k" "I'm sure we can just about manage that"
"Not likely. If you want the job there's a Holiday Inn a couple of hundred yards away. Choice is yours but it's us or Barnsley..."
He will have been paid for any job he left early. I suspect the Utd pay off would be pretty juicy. Hence taking his time with another job
So let's say they have identified him as the man they want and are likely to be prepared to pay him, let's say 10k a week, or half a million pounds a year. You think they would chalk it off because there is an additional cost of 25k to bear? Don't think so.
Rumours are he's coming back on social media etc. He's been seen at our last games. I know he's a fan but is there more to it.
I reckon the Leeds one will have been nice too, hibs probably not so much. I'd say there's a few reasons he's took his time.
