No reason at all, but with how the club is currently behaving I'll confidently say that it's rubbish. Nothing behind it, just my opinion on what's happened there.
I was introduced to Barnsley FC by my dad when I was 3. John McSeveney was manager and I reckon there have been about 25 managers come and go in that time. As any reds fan must I became accustomed to the inevitable ups and downs that means when real success arrives it means so much more. The in between bits have always been bearable, largely enjoyable, the all time low for me being administration. Recent years have brought great success and achievement, tempered by relegation a couple of years ago. Slings and arrows I thought, seen it all before cashing in on assets, unwilling or unable to match wages elsewhere. Then the billionaires buy us and but for Morais blip get us back up and in a position to establish us in Championship, relegation proof us at very least, only instead to dismantle spine of team and sack Daniel Stendel, great man, great manager, showing utter contempt and disrespect for the fan base in the process. They are the legal, financial owners of something I have loved for close to 50 years but whatever crackpot schemes they choose to inflict upon us they will never break the emotional bond I have with the Reds who will always remain, come what may, my team and not theirs.
I assumed you were basing it on what you knew like you said in one of the earlier posts. Didn't realise it was just based on the current form of the owners. Fair enough.
I don't know if it's still true, but Woodrow was having the time of his life in Barnsley. Now a lot has changed since I was told this by an ex Fulham youth player. But if he finds the happiness and form again from last season we will be fine... That said he did benefit from Moore being about.
I've no reason to mistrust Andy Giddings. But if his information is direct from the board as you have said, I've no reason to trust his source. Doesn't mean it's incorrect, but it doesn't mean it's correct either does it? Or do you no longer stand by the press release by the supporter's trust and you're now happy with their conduct? If you do still stand by it, why would you put your trust in people whose last statement doesn't play to the values of the football club or the town?
Apply within.....Applicants need to understand the high press, not mention the requirement for experience at this level, encourage the young uns their talents are required elsewhere before the ink is dry on their current contract. See players as assets of cash .
Hang on. That’s a bit deep, a bit too personal, and far too accusational. I never said ‘the board’ just said the club. But regardless of that, all I’ve really done is share a tweet from a journalist saying interviews are taking place, and posted it in a thread about interviews not taking place. At the time of posting it nobody had mentioned it on here so it seemed pretty relevant. The added comment of Giddings not usually being wrong at all (hardly ever) was just to suggest maybe these claims that interviews aren’t taking place are incorrect. Does it change my stance and view on previous comms? No. Am I defending anyone here? Not at all. How you can turn this in to questioning me on being happy with their conduct doesn’t sit nicely with me beautiful me bit. Literally just posted a snippet of new info. Wasn’t even secret squirrel like.
It seemed to me you were refuting the claims of the OP and using that as evidence. If I've got that wrong I apologise.
I wasn't refuting. I was just pointing out that one person with a 'source' was saying one thing. But Andy Giddings was saying the opposite. I didn't pick a side of the fence to sit on at all.
Not heard a thing for a while pal. I still think it's all smoke and mirrors like the previous attempts at signing Kone etc. Make it look like we're looking at decent options then bang! Here's your new manager, the former Dearne high school substitute maths teacher.
From Giddings an hour a go.. Understand, as part of the previously reported selection process, Poya Ashbagi is a 'person of interest' re the vacant Head coach position at #Barnsleyfc. The Reds are still speaking to several options...
I'll mail the club back my season ticket without requesting a refund and gladly pay postage if they appoint Ass Bag.
