Tough **** as they say. Sorry to hear about your misfortune and wish you a speedy recovery. In a couple of months you will be laughing about it. I remember my last nasty about 7-8 years ago when I had a 30 foot fall/slide on Great Gable and ended up at Whitehaven Hospital. It wasn't funny at the time and now I just laugh about it and think how much worse it would have been if I'd gone over the edge and added another 40 plus feet to my drop. Good news is the Barnsley stage of the Tour de Yorkshire is out today. Get well soon.
Thanks mate. Your story reminds me of when me and my mate Andy were waiting to go up the last bit to the top of Helvelyn after traversing Striding Edge but the last bit had snow with foot holes and we were waiting for a chap to get down. Well he slipped and me and Andy managed to grab him as he shot down and saved him from almost certain death.
Update, I'm home now and my lovely partner Anne is looking after me. Thanks for all the kind responses.
