First saw Kasabian at the Eden Project support by the Hours. My favourite gig though has to be Chemical Brothers in Trafalgar Square. Prodigy supported by Foo Fighters at GMex probably completes my top 3.

I do love Prodigy gigs.... but crikey, they are a bit mental. Went to one about 5 or 6 years ago in Brixton that started about midnight. The whole place right to the back was bouncing... a long, though very enjoyable, 2 hours!!!!

I was a massive Foos fan at the time and when I booked the tickets it said "plus very special guests" so had no idea. Some other lads in my year went night before and got some acid jazz band (Red Snapper). They weren't impressed we got the foos :)

So my first ever gig was Foos at the apollo, second gig was this... not a bad start!

I remember it mentioning "the very special guests". Couldn't believe it when Foos came out. I convinced my mate to get to the start of the second barrier which was mental. he lasted about 4 songs before vanishing somewhere.

I kept telling myself "one more song" as Prodigy ran through their set and then i'd move back and find him. Never quite managed it, though i've genuinely no idea how I stayed in the throng til the end.

Bit of a contrast to my last gig in Mechelen last year which was sat in a Belgian café sipping Belgian beers off the square as StarSailor and Basement Jaxx played. Got to love Belgium.

Red Snapper were a good band to be fair. More trip hop / d&b than acid jazz. It's each to their own. I saw Husker Du back in the mid 80's. Blueprint for the Foo Fighters. They did a tribute to Grant Hart with Bob Mould which was pretty touching.

Focus about 1973 at Sheffield City Hall. During the 3rd encore, the management turned the power off so Jan Akkerman picked up his acoustic and Thijs Van Leer played the grand piano at the back of the stage and they carried on playing. After a few minutes the power came back on and they played on for another 10 minutes. Fantastic gig.

Last night i bought my ticket for King Crimson at Nottingham in November. I never saw them back in the day....

Oasis supported by Kasabian and The Enemy at Heaton Park, Manchester. Unreal.
