A goal that has always stuck in my mind was from a player called Roger Barton. He took the ball on his chest on the 18 yard box with his back to goal spun round and volleyed it into the nets in one movement. I can't remember who it was against but it must have been in the 60's.

A lot of good goals mentioned that I won't repeat. Awesome. But a couple that stand out too for me ...... Derek Parker overhead kick in one of our first ( if not the first ) match back in the old second division. And one that was on here the other day, when King Ronnie won a header in his own box, broke out to take the return at halfway and chipped the onrushing keeper.
We turned up at Oakwell every match expecting similar and we were rarely disappointed, whether it be Ronnie, Banger or big Trev.

Trevor Aylott against Man city, Aylott again against Brighton in same year, where he robbed Steve Foster on the byline, looked up and saw keeper off his line and lobbed him from 35 yards out. Lastly Barnard against Huddersfield.

Too many to mention but Bobby Hassell against Watford was huge for so many reasons.

Reight goal from coops although I believe that was the last time he did the back flip and somersault as he injured his back doing it against the mackems, Peter Beagrie copied coopers somersault after those cup games with stoke but never did it with the grace and style of cooper, rip stevie lad, sithi.

Id go along with almost all of the goals that have been mentioned so far, and I was there for quite a few of those games. In fact me and my mate were charged at by 5 Stoke fans that night we beat them in the replay, wheres the coppers when you need them eh ? ;)
Two more Id like to add are when Wayne Biggins hit a cracking free kick in our 2-0 win against Sunderland in 1992-93. And more recently when Adam Hammill made his return to the club and cut in from the wing and curled it into the top corner against York, on our way to winning the Jpt.
Im sure theres loads more I could think of!

Marcelle versus Bradford in 1997, just a magical day all round.

Kay versus Chelsea in 2008, can't believe no ones mentioned it.

Wayne Biggins on his home debut in 1992, can't remember the opposition.

Wayne's home debut and goal for us in 1992-93 was a jinking run and shot against Luton, which set us up for a 3-0 win. His first goal though was a diving header at Leicester where he got the slightest touch to a whipped in free kick.
I was disappointed at how Bertie fell out with the club, that might have been Viv Anderson's fault the following season.

Really? I was certain he did it at Wigan, when he scored the only goal in our victory there in the League Cup at the start of the 1990/91 season.
My memory's getting like a sieve these days.

You could well be right Lil as I didn't go to wigan , but I seem to recall reading at the time that he had knocked it on the head because he injured his back doing it against sunderland, sithi.

Out of the Biggins/payton deal, we certainly came out the better , I work with a celtic fan and he reckons Biggins is the worst player they have ever had, sithi.

Yes I know he was part of the Andy Payton deal and I also agree we got a better deal in the long run. But it was still annoying that after coming in and turning the 1992-93 season around for us (and he even made John Pearson look decent in that partnership), he was gone before the end of '93.
Remember Ian Bryson did the same, we only signed him that summer but he was also gone by Nov or Dec. Was there something about Anderson & Wilson that some strikers didnt like ?

It's a long time ago now but I don't think Biggins was the same player as the season before, maybe his legs had gone?, thinking about it I don't recall him doing much after he left us, sithi

All I remember is I was in the brewery just past the halfway line and Aylott was quite close to the brewery side when he nicked the ball, looked up and lobbed it, would love to see footage of it!

Adam Hamill 2nd goal vs Middlesbrough in run from half way line 2010 when Strachan was boro manager.
JCR goal vs Doncaster in 4-1 win with 1o men
Ian Banks 25 yard thunderbolt vs Cardiff in 3-2 League Cup win around 1980 Cardiff fans were still celebrating coming back from 2 nil down with 2 goals in 4 minutes when Banks scored in last minute.
David Ginolas goal for Spurs was still memorable even though it was against us.
Like to remember some great goalscorers like Mike Butler Ashley Ward and Craig Hignett
