This^ My pessimistic side feels Wigan will get the deduction reduced to 9 points so the EFL can say they’ve acted fairly. But rationally I think the EFL will be scared that would lead to many other clubs gambling on admin and making a mockery of the rules.
I still don’t understand why the appeal was done after the season finished. It seems to have been deliberately placed in the small window after matches have finished but before the playoff final ends the season. It seems quite strange and if for example the decision is to reduce the penalty which saves Wigan it would be open to cries of Fix and very hard to defend.
The letter to the EFL would have been about the fairness of finishing the season and Wednesday/Derby's FFP. If we get relegated on Tuesday it's under different circumstances than what we could have taken legal advice on in May. It'll be interesting to see what happens, would we have a better case regarding Wigan or Wednesday?
We just got to wait and hope they stick by the rules and the punishment. And have a good lawyer on case just incase worst happens
Initially felt confident about Wigan losing there appeal but now after reading things on there forums I reckon they’ve got a good chance of overturning it.
