Not bothered if we don’t play any football. Just move the ball back to front as brutally as possible and press the hell out of them - 100% effort. Won’t happen.
I really feel sorry for any of Jasper Moons family & friends who reads this forum, the lad is trying to learn his trade, he has been messed about, played out of position & has now through no fault of his own become a target for the key board cynic , he does not deserve it , he needs bringing on & coaching & looked after to help his development but most of all he needs the backing of the fans.
Just watching Blackburn v Middlesbrough and we’re a million miles away from playing with same intensity as either of these teams. Not wanting skills or flair to go along with it but why can’t we play with conviction?
Definitely, with Morris and Adeboyejo up front, you have enough physical presence to justify going direct, especially given how ineffective our midfield is. Getting on the front foot and fighting for second balls will suit our midfielders more than trying to get the ball from the defence and turn. Still amazed that, in one of the most physical leagues going, we have decided to try and adopt a style of inviting oppponents to close you down and then try to play through the lines, with probably the youngest and definitely the most inexperienced team in the league. Based on players apparently unavailable, I'd probably go back to 3-4-3, which is something I never thought I'd say. Mainly because we have no full backs or centre midfielders, and we seem to have a decent number of forwards. Collins; Moon, Andersen, Helik; Williams, Palmer, Gomes, Hondermarck; Iseka, Adeboyejo, Morris To be honest, I don't think Moon has done too badly when on the left of a back three either (Blackburn and Derby at home being main examples that spring to mind)
One thing`s for sure - keep doing what we have been doing and we`re going down with a wimper. Have a chuffing go and play with some bottle.
None of any of this is Jasper Moon’s fault. And he is a tryer. But he is continually picked despite not performing that well on many occasions - and the only conclusion is that the coaches are instructed from above to do so. We know these owners have form for doing exactly that. It isn’t Jasper Moon’s fault. And he clearly has some ability and always gives his best. But it is perfectly legitimate to question his continued selection, particularly when it is in midfield when there seems to be a refusal to play players who’s natural position is there. He should be being coached, training with the first team, dipped in when required and playing u23 football in the main. He’s being thrown in to develop sale value. I feel sorry for him, not for social media posts, but because his employers are misusing him and risking him even having a career in the game.
Because essentially we are now a non-competitive training school where the result doesn't matter but playing experience does.
