It's not entertaining for me though. I admit I take the piss a bit, and say things online looking for a reaction, but when folk who don't know me (and vice versa) start slagging me regards my relationship/family etc, it's a bit much. I accept my friends doing that, they're friends, they've earned that right. But I wouldn't dare even think about pulling someone I don't know to bits over the internet. Especially someone I could end up bumping into. I'm a lovely lad I think. But we've all got our limits. I think I've found mine.

Time to step back a bit. A good start would be not to respond to known trolls. Some of those at it last night not so long ago spent weeks photographing another fellow supporter, bullying him online. When threatened with the police they soon **** their selves.

I can let what's said about me slide, no bother. But I'd appreciate these gobby ******* approaching me at games and calling me a parick then. I'd see that as a more adult act. If somewhat brave/silly.

I don't know Whitey personally, but appreciate that he is a Barnsley fan through and through, and makes some excellent contributions to this forum. His posts are usually knowledgeable and insightful, but I would not expect everyone to agree with them. His videos are always well worth watching and I for one appreciate the huge amount of time he spends in producing them.

I despair that this forum sometimes descends into personal abuse. It is so unnecessary. After all, we are all Barnsley fans. I took some time away from this forum because someone had a go, albeit I may have missed the so called sarcasm. Something like that is not always obvious on a forum.

But anger and downright nastiness is obvious. I'm surprised Tyrone has got away with some of the comments he's made on this thread without being threatened with being banned.

Calm down, Tyrone. There really is no need for it.

I've followed this forum for about a year and post now and again, whitey is one of the posters what makes this forum worth while. After reading this thread I just wanted to add that.

I like this board. I like coming on to read different peoples opinion.

1% of people are wrong uns. Don't let that detract from the 99%. It's how society has been and always will be. Social media just gives that 1% a seemingly louder voice.
