    My guess is about 10% at most
    If the reason the board have acted like this is because of internet posts then I'm worried

    Noisy minority, and in some cases particularly on X,nasty as well. I do believe they will all be well aware of the posts on X, but imo this won’t influence them.

    It won’t be just that. It will be a combination of several things. Fan sentiment on social media and at the match. The discontent home and away has been very obvious. As soon as the fans in the stadium turn, it’s usually game over. And that definitely happened.

    For balance, there are a good few decent, articulate posters on X ........... we're not all cap ends.

    I'm sure if the board notice the bad, they will also see the good.

    Agree probably the major factor and the negative chanting particularly at last few away games , don’t think social media chat has that much to play in influencing the board/ management

    But you have to trawl through so much bile, much of which is written in something only vaguely resembling English. The fact that Young Nudger is one of the voices of reason on there says a lot!

    I think, regardless of opinions on whether the board have done well in player/head coach selection I imagine they’re all pretty canny and wouldn’t be swayed by a minority of social media posters. I imagine they’ll be focussed on their business and the revenue streams. The biggest revenue stream is TV money and any club gaining promotion is going to benefit from c. £6m of additional income.

    They’ve seen their business be within maybe 10 games of achieving that additional income only to see that ‘guarantee’ ebb away. They’re closer to the daily vibe at the club, they have a new CEO and other new senior team members who will be close to what’s going on. Strikes me that they felt that with the recent decline in performances and results that they had to act to give the business the best possible chance of earning the additional income.

    It’s not nice to see people out of work, it could maybe have been done earlier but for me, this is a calculated gamble.

    The players don’t need coaching for the next 4 games, they just need motivation and freedom.

    it might just be a masterstroke??

    It will be a money decision. As I said yesterday a business cannot look at losing 20% of its customers without acting.

    Aye, but the block function works as well as it does on here.
    I agree though that it is an easy place to vent anger and frustration (whether that is football, cricket, politics, entertainment)

    Twitter is fine. I just do the music side of it and it’s full of really bright funny nice people. Much like everything in life there are TwoHats but you just block them and talk to the nice people.

    As others have said. Loss of income is why they’ve acted. Season ticket sales will be well down. Collins is only part of the problem though.

    I think the proportion with an account will be much higher. At least 50% at a guess. Ultimately, it's another form of social media, like this one, so finding one is likely to be consistent with finding the other.

    Not all of them will actively use Twitter (I refuse to call it X), in the same way that some don't actively use Facebook. There'll be more active Facebook users on here than there are active Twitter users, but both will be way over 10% of the active membership here.

    Barnsley FC have 81.8k followers on Instagram
    181.3k followers on Twitter/X and 151k on Facebook.

    Realistically I reckon at least 30k of those on Twitter are the fake bot accounts that try and get you to click on links to watch the game live or put a bet on.

    There is no way we have 151k real Facebook fans. It’s either other fans following to troll or fake accounts.

    I hope it is all down to lack of renewals, because it’s easy to stir up a lot of noise online.
