Have played at your wedding for your first dance? This is what my friend, who was our DJ, played at ours!
We didn't have a first dance, we don't conform to social norms. We didn't even do speeches! Literally just tiny wedding ceremony which was as quick as possible and a massive do after. We did have a cake though, cos we like cake.
Thankfully not that bloody Rod Stewart attempt! DJ didn't have it - had to take my LP up to the reception!
We had a band at ours (just a two piece) who were absolutely fantastic that we'd found on some website, we also found a string quartet who did the first part of the day and had them play things with a modern twist. Perhaps the only time Deadmaus has been played orchestrally at a wedding! Anyway, we weren't going to have a first dance... we'd bucked conformity at every turn (shocked you all are, I can tell!) and then the photographer nudged us to do it as otherwise, they just wouldn't get people on the dance floor. So in wonderful tongue in cheek fashion we chose "Naive" by the Kooks!
November String Quartet | Ian Brock Entertainment Just googled to see if they were still around. And delighted to see they are. They were all students at the Royal College of Music and just earning a few quid at weekends. Can see quite a few songs there we asked them to learn, deadMaus being one of them. Lovely bunch they were, really pleased they are doing ok.
My wife loved Donny Osmond when she was younger so we had Twelfth of Never as first dance. She walked in the ceremony to Truly, Madly, Deeply by Savage Garden. If we were getting married now I’d push for After All These Years by Journey. Fantastic rock ballad.
Didnt have a wedding song but number one in the charts was We dont talk anymore, by Cliff Richard which was a sign of things to come.
