I think its going to be a hugely erratic season. Bright spots, at times we'll hammer teams, others we'll get hammered. I think first half of the season we'll be 4-4-2, but we'll have a change to 3-5-2. January will see more midfielders leave and better ones come in, some solid full backs, and we'll stabilise and have a rally, but still finish between 11th and 14th.

I think our performances will be hugely erratic in this season and predict a lower mid table finish. I can't see a team with a losing mentality getting anywhere near the playoffs.

You are entitled to your opinion, of course. Where does the "losing mentality" come from?

Rotherham did exactly that though. Hope we can do the same.

Don't know, but I think they've got one. For instance Brad Potts has only just turned 24 and already he has 3 relegations on his CV and he played a major role in all 3 of them. George Moncur has played in 46 games for us and we've won 8 of them. His return was no better at Colchester. Managers often get judged on their win percentage, George's is about 20%.

In his recent interview Kenny Dougall said a relegation stays with you your entire career, after his relegation last season. Every player at our club has suffered relegation. Most of them more than once. They're used to losing.

Mid table. Can’t see anything to suggest a promotion tilt at the moment given the almost radio silence from the club. Just seems very flat. All depends what happens before the window closes. If we sell our 2 strikers and don’t replace them, then god help us.

Not sure about the manager either, nothing to go on. Could be great, could be like the last idiot.

Could be all fantastic and we set off great. Just don’t know, but not enthused for the season start, but season ticket bought anyway!

I know we are both familiar with the black dog. Your connection here seems tenuous. Good players win football matches. Potts was in my book one of about 5 players who looked ok at championship level. George wasn't fit enough to run for a bus. I hope I'm right. I think we will go up. No dis to you Jay, you are a good poster on here.

I've never seen my team win a title before. I'd love to see that happen.

Between 1st and 10th I'll say. This is a poor league and we have a decent squad for it imo. Never seen us finish 1st before so fingers crossed

Really haven't a clue. I'm baffled how the majority of our fans are so confident though.
Could finish anywhere between 4th and 14th for me. A good start is essential for us to be challengers imho.....

I have absolutely no problem at all with anyone taking a counter view point from my own and in this situation I desperately hope you're right.

Poor league , we have more than enough quality to win the title and a manager who hopefully drive them with an exciting way of playing. Very excited season tickets bought today for me and my lad. You reds

Winkler admitted in his interview last week that the players were very downbeat when the coaching staff first met them. But he went on to say that it then became first priority to lift the mood in the camp and instil a positive mentality.

From what I've seen so far I feel that they've pretty much achieved that and I'm optimistic that any hangover from relegation has been overcome. We'll soon find out!
