After one of the wins near the end of that season, I went back to the local club. Some old guys were playing dominoes and someone had mentioned the reds had won. One of them chipped in, "they don't want to go up" Bet he felt a silly old bugger a few weeks later.
Nitpicking, Finding fault, Criticizing, over petty inconsequential points, i'm so embarrassed now. THANKYOU
Slightly off with my first page prediction. We can still finish top but my 100+ points prediction is going to fall just short, which wouldn't have happened with Moore and Woodrow both fit all season.
Didn't post it in here but I did say 4th at seasons start and until the last 4 games I thought I was going to be about right. Very happy to be wrong.
Judging by the celebrations and the fact the players are talking about achieving their season aim, an Oxford ‘97 performance feels like it’s in the pipeline for Saturday so 2nd....
True, but we put the fear of God up Dyche and his troops in the Cup. For long periods, it was us that looked to be the team in the higher division that day. Shame that Cams headed flick was disallowed and Liam tripped their player for the penalty, otherwise if they'd have brought them back to Oakwell, I think we could have probably beaten them.
Repeating myself here but that performance gives me huge hope for next season not being a struggle. That coupled with the excitement of what the new owners can do with a clean slate.
Made me proud to be a Red that day SD. It was a quality performance by the lads and on balance, they honestly deserved a better outcome.
