Still my favourite Reds' goalkeeper The fact that we were in the Fourth Division at the time matters not one jot to me .
Me too, Team was: Gerry Stewart Sam Yates Phil Chambers Bob Doyle John Mannning Paddy Greenwood Mick Butler Les Lea Brian Mahoney Alistair Millar kenny Brown Goalie when I first visited Oakwell was Roy Ironsides. Can't remember how good he was tho'
Ah , the memories . Some skilful players there , even though we were in the Fourth Division ( Stewart , Greenwood , Doyle , Butler , Lea , Millar ) .
Clive Baker for me. Made up for his lack of height with great agility. Think Watson would have been a class act if he had the chance to develop. Keepers hit their peak in their later years and unfortunately for Watto, and BFC, he didn't get there.
Oh yes Ernest Dennis never listened to us . Had he not resigned to take over at Blackburn Rovers , Jim Iley'd still be at the helm now !!!
RE: Clive Baker gets my vote. He was ACE - used to let me and Red lemonade take penalties against him after training for a bit of practice.
