The Great is an adjective of size, not of goodness. The Romans called our Island Great Britain and Ireland (the island) Little Britain.

Yep, if the Romans had done their homework, they could have gone for Larger Britain and Smaller Britain. Then we could have raved on for centuries about our largeness, and how we are no longer a large nation and we need someone to put the Large back in Larger Britain But what have the Romans ever done for us?
I meant 'great' as in goodness not 'Great' as in Britain. Funny how one capital letter changes the meaning.
