As much as Devaney seems a nice chap he's got a 100% losing record when taking charge, I would give Warnock Saturday and the play-offs in a heart beat.
I can't imagine Warnocks ego wants him to end his career on the back of whatever happened at Aberdeen so if he's up for it and happy to accept a no win no silly fee contract for a month thenI'd snap his hands off. I went to the evening with Warnock a couple of years ago and he spoke very highly about us and I reckon he'd love to get us promoted. If the deal is right I really don't see what we've got to lose.
I'm sure there are loads of managers who would jump at the chance of a realistic (I say realistic with some imagination) chance of almost an instant promotion on their CV. Failing that Nigel Spackman could still be available. It's not that hard to cobble up an interim contract, could be done and dusted in hours.
This board don't want to go up with Huddersfield, Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday coming down and maybe Doncaster Rovers coming up.
Promotion is worth 8 million. Home gate revenue from those games wouldn't be anywhere near 8 million. Of course they want promotion it's why they got rid of Collins.
