So you dont think Bradders would back out of any challenges etc to avoid injury and not miss out on his move down south? If he knew he was going on the Monday too he would have no reason to play well as he would know he wouldnt be there afterwards. Also, in regards to Victor, surely it would have a negative on him. Choosing to play a striker that doesnt want to be at the club who is leaving a few days later over one that does want to be there and wants to impress would clearly send a crappy message to him.
I'll take your point about backing out of challenges. That's a possibility. Can't see how it would have a negative impact on Victor though. He's fully aware than Bradshaw is the better/more experienced player and that the club would want him to play as often as he could.
Apart from the absolute radio silence during the record losing run. He was very fairweather. A decent communicator in times of good, and did some good things like the walks. But aside from transfers and chatting, he was a bit fur coat no knickers.
I'd definitely start Victor alongside Moore now on saturday. If Bradshaw finalises his deal good luck to him. We'll have to make do and mend saturday and hopefully bring someone in next week. I'll admit the timing isn't the best. However, it is what it is.
He is aware of the fact Bradders is better/more experienced and so far has done great as sub to him under the impression that the club is standing firm and he is staying. In your scenario where we agree a deal but keep Bradders just for this game on Saturday would surely sned a bad message to Victor IMO. It would basically say we know he is going but do not think you are good enough to replace him so we want to use Bradders again even though he doesnt wanna be here until we get someone else in. Surely you would just let him go now and then stick Victor in for a game to see how he does from start.
Probably true, and if you are asking me who I would rather start Bradders or Victor I would 100% say Bradders. I was just pointing out that keeping hold of Bradders just for one more game Saturday before letting him go on Monday for example, could send a really bad message to Victor as it would show we have no faith in him to start when needed.
Being the one change in a team that works well will be different than overhauling half the team. It would be harsh to judge him on the one start he made in what fizzled out to something more resembling a glorified friendly.
I completely disagree, but if that's your view then fair enough. If I was in Victors position, I would know Bradshaw had started all season ahead of me and therefore it wouldn't have any impact on my feelings what so ever. He's aware he's trying to break into the team at the moment and that other players (whether on the move or not) are above him in the pecking order.
Fair enough, don't think we will fully agree on this one. I get your point but I just think it would be a bad message to the young lad. I know if I was him in that position it would p!ss me off if it happened to me.
I've moved jobs due to location before so I've no issue with him going and no issue with the club accepting the offer. I'd much rather give them time to sort out a replacement than throw a hissy fit now but maybe I'm not a baby like most on this board.
Totally agree with with that . There’s big difference in wholesale changes and individual changes . This is how we introduced the likes of Liddle Eden,Watson etc coming into good confident teams and picking up the momentum
