Decided afterall to go for the MX4s, been offered them via Richer Sounds for £300 (rather than £350 after some haggling over price matching)
Well I had found them on a couple of sites for circa 240/260 and asked if they would price match, however as they're non UK companies they wouldn't but would offer for £300 as a goodwill gesture. Interestingly I had emailed 2 separate stores and they both said the same thing so must have a fair bit of a scope to offer discounts Not sure how much more is likely to be reduced during black friday, haven't decided yet if I'll wait a week or pull the trigger now
Cheers, I’ll give that a try. I saw a few UK-fronted Hong Kong based companies, but thought best to avoid those. I can’t imagine you’ll get them for much less than £300. I’d go for it.
Same, don't fancy the hassle afterwards if I have any issues. I've used Richer Sounds before and always had nothing but good things to say about them
I own Sony WH1000s, absolutely bang on. Sounds quality is fantastic, battery life is incredible and bluetooth works seamlessly. And they keep your ears warm in this weather. Wouldn't swap them for anything.
I try to buy as much as possible through them. I’ve spoken with a few guys who work for them, and they say they’re an awesome company to work for. Probably not quite audiophile level know-how, but they properly look after their staff. I’ve used various audiophile shops over the years, and tbh tend to find them a bit arsey.
I tried Richer Sounds, but didn't have much luck getting the price down. If they don't drop to £300 ish this weekend, I'll probably just go for the XM3s. They're about £200 now.
Oh really? That's a shame. I wonder if I could put you in touch with my contacts at either the Milton Keynes or Cambridge stores (my locals)
Sorry, got half way through replying to your previous post and obviously forgot. Cheers for the offer, but yes I have ordered the XM3s. Decided I could put the difference towards a decent set of in-ear headphones for when I’m at the gym, etc.
That's what I did with the £50 I saved. Got the earfun airs. 5 stars from What Hi-Fi and have been really impressed with them for the money I spent
I picked up the Anker Soundcore P2’s on an Amazon offer for £25. They’re a hundred times better than I expected they’d be, at that price.
