Very few home fans create any atmosphere nowadays. It's only the away day experience that seems to encourage noise and vibrancy. If I'm thinking of truly atmospheric home fans.... very few. Leeds have two whole ends stood and singing and are therefore an exception, where a culture of singing is encouraged. Stoke are noisy at home, a real passionate crowd. Crystal Palace have their Ultras block, Boro have an Ultras end, the Upper Stretford End of Old Trafford is an all singing and standing affair and Wolves have a whole end stood singing. Apart from that you are usually limited to a few fans at the back of the traditional home end or the more common block nearest the away fans that tends to have the more lively lads for 'banter'. There seems to be an emergence of singing aeas being created, often in an area near the away fans where most fans tend not to go. We then have the strange scenario of teams attacking the noisy fans first and then a quiet, docile traditonal home end second half. I actually think in big games the Ponty End is decent, certainly more so than a lot of other teams.
