Just had a look at them and the Austrian league. It's like the Scottish Premier league in terms of attendances. Wolfsberger must have some rich owners to be competing at the top on crowds of 4500 and paying their manager a wage that requires such a lofty compensation figure to release him.
It's a sellers market.Must say I'd rather we'd have trusted Daniel to buy some experience with the million euros plus wages that's going spare.
exactly. If the rumour is true about compo why not bloody just spend it on wages of players who are capable of playing at the level we find ourselves at!!
12th highest rated country in Europe according to the UEFA coefficient, just below Turkey and above Czech Republic. Scotland are 16th for comparison.
Can't say about attendances, but down the years there have been some decent Austrian teams that have graced the European stage. The two Viennas, and more recently Sturm Graz and Red Bull Salzburg. Looks like the spreadsheet has had a column for Austria added.
I was really likening it to the Scottish Prem in terms of it being a league withing a league in terms of attendances. Couple of teams with biggish gates and others with league two size ones.
Because for our silent owners it's more important to spend cash on someone who will support them in their desires to make money on trading stocks and shares in football players than it is to spend money on building a successful football team.
I did realised but didn’t make it clear in my response, apologies. I was trying to add to your comment not contradict it.
