Been given notice our landlord is selling our house and we're looking at a property in Worsborough Common. Looks nice inside but only ever heard horror stories about the area - buses refusing to serve it due to crime being so high etc. That was a long time ago though. Anyone who lives in the area now who can tell us what it's like these days? I don't want to pass over a good looking house over fear stories I heard a good 15 years ago.
Sorry to hear your landlord gave notice. I'm a landlord myself and am always on the lookout for rogues who give us a bad name. Did you have an original shorthold assured tenancy? If you did it auto-renews on the basis that you must have two months notice. Have you got two months notice? I'm a member of the National Residential Landlords association (NRLA) and we fear it may become the norm if the Gov end the "blameless eviction" as everybody will just arbitrarily evict tenants and put the houses on the market. At the moment in practice it isn't what most sensible landlords want to do. I like to have long term tenants and just out of interest, (the NRLA are asking for info on this to take back to parliament) I am curious as to what reasons the landlord gave. He doesn't have to give any but I would think I'd at least owe a moral obligation to a tenant to explain why. (pm if you don't want to share)
It's literally just that they're selling it, they gave us plenty of notice and have been very fair with us
