Thats conspiracy theory nonsense. I've seen that post on facebook. That nurse definitely has lots of friends
Its my neighbours family, I don't think its nonsense at all, i know its fact if you die of anything and you had covid with the previous 28 days it goes on the death certificate ? This is her gripe.
More than a few people here answering 'yes, I'm fully vaccinated'. You're aware, presumably, that being fully vaccinated doesn't prevent you being a carrier of the virus? Just checking.
About time you posted something sensible Seriously it was a very good point and I agree with it completely.
Im only half vaccinated and fully aware I could be a carrier. I think most people are - its why people in schools offices etc are now being encouraged to regularly test with lateral flow. I will probably test myself the weekend before if I can get a ticket - and again the following weekend just incase. But also I think most people will take the view that everyone knows the risks and can make the decision themselves if they want to risk exposure. Which if socially distanced outside is fairly low. Id feel less safe in a queue in a shop
It goes on the certificate but it isn't listed as the cause unless it is the cause. Theres 2 measures for COVID deaths which are easily found on the ONS website. The government use the one which looks best for them, but the thought that people who have a positive covid test and then get run over by a car and is then classed as a COVID death is absolute poppy ****. Additionally if anybody thinks that the governments are over inflating the covid situation in hospitals is absolutely conspiracy theory BS. Having had 2 close family members on COVID wards at the same time, one in High Dependency then I can guarantee that your neighbour has read that on a facebook group. You ask anyone on here who are working in a general hospital and ask them if the numbers have been inflated. Try telling my neighbour who is in charge of COVID ward at Donny Royal Infirmary and has been working her nuts off every day for 12 months looking after patients whilst also putting herself and her family at risk. COVID deniers are as big a risk as Anti Vaxers.
It doesn't take long to find the answer if you look for it. https://www.ons.gov.uk/aboutus/tran...cidentwithcovid19willbecountedinonsstatistics
@JamDrop just wondering how the results compare to what you would have guessed before you did the poll?
definitely yes .only had the first vaccine ,but get tested going out of the uk then when coming back in ,just be happy not be wearing a bloody facemask nearly everytime i get out of the truck
It depends what figures you're talking about as the article states. The government data which is used by just about all the media reports covid deaths as anyone who died who tested positive in the 28 days prior to their death. ONS doesn't. But he didn't say ONS figures.
Most news outlets use both, the government doesn’t because the NHS and PHE numbers become available quicker due to its estimating of deaths. However when there is a Trauma related incident it isn’t logged as a Covid death. https://publichealthmatters.blog.gov.uk/2020/08/12/behind-the-headlines-counting-covid-19-deaths/ The ONS data uses death certificates and there’s a 2 week lag due to the way the data is sourced and due to potential inquests. The ONS data is the absolute and most robust numbers.
I absolutely agree the ONS data is by far the most valid. But the guy didn't question that. And what he said was correct. The article you've linked to includes a quote from the WHO that states when there is an obvious alternative to a Covid death after a test, such as trauma, it shouldn't be included. But in the UK government statistics they didn't discount it. You said he was taking crap but he wasn't. That's all I'm saying.
