Most blatant public come and get me.

Very disappointed with that. Mawson did his best, kept quiet and his move materialised.

Lack of class Andy, lack of class.

Angle of sky piece, that Yiadom wants to play in Premier League after 2 bids from Hudds and 1 year left on contract.

Yiadom "A few of these offers have come to light and did get rejected but theres not much I can do just to play well and that's what i'm going to do and of something fresh does come to light take it from there. It's been a hell of a journey starting out in the conference and making my way up and as any boy, they want to play as high as possible, that's obviously the Premier League, so if the opportunity does come, that's what i'd like to do. Its like the Holy Grail isn't it, that's the dream and it would be a dream come true, to play in the Premier League."

Interviewer "you've rejected a new deal can you shed some light on what the situation is?"

Yiadom "I have been offered a new contract and it did get rejected, but at the moment now, I am a Barnsley player. So, that's all that matters at the moment.

Interviewer "Any sign of fresh talks, could that be explored further?"

Yiadom "well no, not at the moment"

Looks like interview was from his home and suspect a bit of a surprise for the authorities at Oakwell. Imagine his agent has bene involved to try and rouse up more interest or get club to weaken stance. I'd be hugely surprised if on 1st of September he's still with us.

His heart wasn't in it at all last night. As much as I rate the lad as a player, it's probably time to cut our losses and move on.

That's precisely the point I've been making. If his hearts not in it, that feeling will transmit to the other
players in the squad. To avoid that, might be best to move him out sooner rather than later.

His heart is not in it but he is still happy to take the club's money.

As bad as the lad at Southampton.

His heart was definitely not in it. If hecky keeps playing him then that could be see a massisve effect on the other lads. As much as I like him maybe we need to bite the bullet, stick him in the reserves until we get a fair offer for him. Maybe try push for £3.5m plus season loan for lolley. Si thi Yids, its bin nice.

Any Prem club must be mental to have him at full back, ask Bristol City.

I watched him closely last night. He pulled out of a few tackles and I thought he was poor(ish) positional wise aswell. If I was a scout I wouldn't have thought I'd just watched a player who'd cost close to £3mill. Shame really because he was outstanding last season. But we all know the score. He'll be gone by the end of the month and we move on and bring another through. While ever the model works im fully behind it.

His showing for the 3rd? Bristol goal probably halved his value if any prospective buyers saw it.

Thing is if nobody has upped their bid for him & his performances are below par then that bid & the dream of playing in the prem will never come. He needs to peform whilst he is with us if he wants the move.

Interesting read, and yet some people think holding players to the full duration of the contract even if they want to leave is the answer.

As Spider says Huddersfield are paying £1.8 million for the lad from Rennes who
played against us. They might cool their interest now which would just leave Swansea.

What he needs to realise, is that if scouts are watching him, to guarantee any move he's got
to play well for us. Apart from one interception in front of the East Stand last night he did little
to impress so if he doesn't buck his ideas up he might not get the move he craves.

Do people not understand how much trouble we're in this year? Sell him and it's even harder for us to stay up.

Thing is, clubs wanting to buy him know he's a really good, right-footed, right back who can also play right wing. Never is, was or will be a left back, filled in admirably in a crisis last year but will probably never play there again once he's left us.

I understand the growing opinion that we should let him go... but someone has to offer a fair price first. If Huddersfield or Swansea had come in with 3.5m or even £3m, I think he'd be gone. As it was, the offers were far below our valuation and therefore he's still here. If I was Yiadom, I wouldn't be thinking, 'Oh, Barnsley wont sell me, I'm fed up'. I'd be thinking, 'well, no one has offered that much for me yet, I best try bl00dy hard to impress and hopefully a Prem team will offer a fair price.' I agree there is little point keeping hold of an unhappy player, but we still MUST get a fair price otherwise everyone will be demanding a move at the first sign of a derisory offer coming in.
