amazingly Hampshire are going to lose despite bowling Essex out for 76 and having a lead of ~180 after the first innings. Mental.

Great cricket match played between 2 very poor teams. Give me this over the T20 charade any day of the week.

Relegation threatened today but could finish second if we win the last match against a team with nowt to prove or play for. Bizarre

At least Sidebottom got to see a win for his last game at Headingly before retirement. Been an absolutely cracking player!

Its pathetic though how we've collapsed this season from title challengers to relegetion threatened, with 1 game left. And who would have thought that last seasons champions Middlesex could be in an even worse position than us now.

big shake up needed in the summer....could well cost Gayle his job, which came too soon for him anyway in my opinion.

The batting has been the big let down for me this season. Nobody other than Ballance has scored consistantly sadly.

I think Gale is the problem unfortunately and the player recruitment.

37-6 last time I check score.

Talking of Ballance he had not done much the last month or two form wise.

This performance might be a blessing in disguise.

No hiding away when you’ve lost in three days by 400 ish runs, and thats with having bowled the opponents out for only 227 on the first day. Assuming the last 2 are nipped out tonight.

The batting and the leadership needs a massive overhaul, we need better backup for when England decimate the squad and we need to replace sidebottom.

be funny if Hampshire hang on for a draw and last seasons champions Middlesex get relegated over the cross-bow incident the other week
we may have had a stinker of a season but theirs will be a real shocker if they drop

They have dropped but the incredible points situation is that we have only a couple of points more than them so have luckily survived

look on the bright side, we ended up top half
us and middlesex both favourites and i think essex were around 25/1 pre season and coasted it by a massive 72 pts!
