The Reev gets it wrong (partly) again!!!... Beef should not ALWAYS be rare medium/rare. Certain cuts produce their best flavour when 'well done'. A good example is Rib-eye steak that is shot through with collagen which 'melts and caramelises' when cooked. I admit to preferring mosts steak rare but when ordering a rib-eye in a steak restaurant the chef (who specialised in steaks funnily enough) suggested I try it well done for the above reason. He was absolutely right and it was melt in the mouth moist and delicious. He also admitted to hating having to cook fillet, Porterhouse etc. until "all the flavour was removed -but if the customer insists....." So in summary .... most beef steaks rare - Yes! all beef steaks rare - No!
Hi Amanda, The Bistro by the Bar menu is served all day & evening. It's always running when we are open. cheers
Where abouts it the pub? Wouldn't mind having a ride through with the missus for grub one day. Is it far from Hemsworth?
Nice one Border, the other side of Wakefield doesn't seem too bad at all. Steady drive, will look to make a visit in the near future.
