In August if you said Mowatt and Mcgeehan would be best midfield pairing in League one you'd have been laughed out of tarn. Powderfuff would have been a phrase I would have used. Nervous, off the pace, poor touches and decision making.

But then. BOOM! Like two new signings. Both getting better and better as the games go by. Immense yesterday. Both look like natural leaders, strong in defence and attack!
    huge well done!

    Just saying.

Hecky knew what he was doing.
You just have to look at YouTube footage of these players.
Mowatt - Leeds young player of the year.
McGeehan - a dynamic Bryan Robson type of player.
But both players careers were in free fall.
Hecky took the risk of resurrecting their careers and eventually they have come good.

WELL DONE HECKY for signing them.
And well done Danny for giving them the confidence to play again.

That sums up why I thought we had a great transfer window. We didn't need to splash out because the players we had, particularly in midfield, have improved so very much.

If you complement them with Dougall and Bahre then I think we should be happy!

I've not forgotten which league we're in. It's the same league that's seen the likes of Winstanley, Howard, Barraclough, McCarthy, Evans, Glavin, Banks, McHale, Aylott, Parker, Hourihane, Winnall, Roberts, Mawson, Scowen, Watkins, Bree, Hammill all starred in for our club.

Same Hecky that tried to play Mowatt on the left wing when we signed him? I think you’re fishing with this comment though and only landed one or two tiny bites.

McGeehan was hardly in free fall when we signed him. Coming back from a serious injury, yes, but he was still arguably Luton’s best player. Probably would have been part of the squad six points clear at the top of League One had he stayed.

So, what you're saying is, well done Hecky for knocking the confidence out of them in the first place?

    I see...

Mowatt looks excellent at this level. Too good to stay at this level. I'm less convinced about Mcgeehan but fully admit that's probably because he hasn't been quite as eye catching as Mowatt rather than not playing well.

Nice one Nudge. I guess you're out fishing again but if not I think you need to have a read of how recruitment works at the club:
    http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/the-recruitment-process-according-to-gg.275879/

It's not a recent thing and was in place when Hecky was.

But Look specifically said that the explanation given to you wasn't the full story and that the head coach does actually identify and essentially bypass the stated policy when they want to so how would we know that the players nudger mentioned weren't selected by hecky as opposed to James and his team?

I'm not saying they were or anything. Just showing how the explanation given doesn't give the whole picture and is quite selective in what it explains
