    He'd played for them. Won a trophy with them. They were in the Premier League. They would have offered him a lot more money than we were probably paying him.
    Plenty of reasons why he and most other people in a similar situation WOULD have gone there.

    Agreed, but didn’t make it right and also gives the lie to the Redders angle.If I remember rightly (& I may not) he’d effectively committed to another season with us about a week beforehand too.

    I've read somewhere that one of the reasons Wilson left for Wednesday was that the club allowed him to speak to them therefore didn't show any desire or fight to keep him.

    The club sold his captain behind his back, simple as that .... no consulting with Danny at all
    He was laid on a beach in Mallorca at the time when he found out Redfern had been sold, let alone any discussions had been taking place
    Hence he back tracked on his pledge of staying at Oakwell ...

    It bugs me though when I hear Redders just wanted a bit of security from the club, and asked for a payrise.
    He wasn't being greedy and he'd probably have stayed and finished his career with us.
    But no we let him go, and he went to Charlton for another relegation season. :(
