He'd played for them. Won a trophy with them. They were in the Premier League. They would have offered him a lot more money than we were probably paying him. Plenty of reasons why he and most other people in a similar situation WOULD have gone there.

It bugs me though when I hear Redders just wanted a bit of security from the club, and asked for a payrise. He wasn't being greedy and he'd probably have stayed and finished his career with us. But no we let him go, and he went to Charlton for another relegation season.
