Had he not been injured I'm sure he would have been at least on the bench infront of watters and Marsh. No need to rush him into the 1st team though.
Neill said he was back in training a couple of weeks ago, and that he'd have been involved in this week's U21s game, and next week's, but his call-up meant that he'd likely get the minutes needed into his legs for his country instead. And a good 70 minutes the other day bodes well. Be great to have him back for selection. Was just starting to establish himself. His cameo at Reading in particular.
Eh conspiracy you don’t go from months out to straight on a plane to play for your national team! Where’s the conspiracy? Can you not remember the Cauley 2 weeks(4 months) scenario?
I think if he wasn't injured he would be playing or at least on the bench infront of Marsh and watters lik3 he was before injury.
So we are either allowing Portugal to play him whilst injured, or we are allowing him to play his first match since a fairly long injury, to be for a team where we can't analyse in person how his recovery from that injury has been. Both options do seem a bit unusual.
How long have you been watching football? After a lengthy injury players have to get match fit, generally with the U21 or U23 so given that hasn’t happened something is amiss.
Yes, but I don't understand why we'd do that?? That's what I'm asking. I could get if it was because there's a transfer window opening in the next 48 hours but there isn't. I could understand if he had refused a contract, but he didn't. So I don't understand why you think this?
