Yes, whatever happened to Harry? I saw him at Walsall in the regular League 1 game and he looked a world beater.
Imagine being able to play with TWO wingers! Great seeing that again but disappointed with SSW claiming that goal when it clearly went in off Dunkley. Suppose he wanted a bit of Wembley glory
Reminded me of when Craig Johnston tried sliding in to claim one of Ian Rush’s goals in the 86 FA Cup Final, before he eventually got one himself. Winnall was (rightly) quite cross with Chapman at the end for not rolling the ball to him for the easiest of finishes.
There were loads more reds fans on our side that day as well lol. Swindon really do dislike Oxford, and they also loved every minute of us whooping them.
T'was a great day out, made better by Oxford and Barnsley fans mingling together in the sunshine. Complete contrast to the play off final a few weeks later, where it was a case of get in, do the job, get out again. What appeals this year is that with us, Bolton, Peterborough, Lincoln and Oxford again in the mix, the final should be a friendly day out whichever two of those teams are in it.
Remember a line of Oxford fans pretending to row down Wembley way in a whoops upside ya head style..great day..
Ones probably the best English striker in the premier league at the minute and the other struggles for game time at Luton.
Amazing day. Spoke to loads of oxford fans. I was born there but moved to barnsley age 3. Perfect final 4 me. Fans were so much nicer than Millwall ass holes.
Yep, I thought that was odd to include them. Horrible, entitled lot and almost as bad as Wendy for the attendance-fetish bollo¢ks. We'd hear nothing else for weeks...
That mainly serves as a reminder of how aggressive Loko used to get when you weren't telling him how great America is. At the time it was a fair comparison between the two - Toney was doing well in League One and Woodrow was scoring goals at a decent rate in the Championship. Its been good to see Toney progress in the way that he has - shows what hard work does and where it gets you. It's a shame to see the bitterness remains with Woodrow though from some in this thread - a good servant of our Club who did well for a number of seasons, yet we still love to bash our ex players for some reason. Very odd behaviour.
But in that thread loko was right and he was one of the few that actually saw the potential in Ivan toney. I actually thought loko was a good poster shame he doesn't participate anymore. As for woodrow no bitterness at all. Although plenty towards toney after he played for us. Interesting some of the responses on that thread "if toneys worth 10 million cauleys worth 15" It was never really a fair comparison as toney was alot younger and had great potential. I thought toney always had decent attributes while he was on loan here fast, strong good in the air Newcastle had already paid a decent fee for him before he came on loan to us. Only problem was he was only just old enough to drink. We were close to re signing him when we sold kieffer moore but fry persuaded him to stay at posh abit longer then he went to Brentford in the January. Shame like I said the best English striker in the premier league now.
It was before my days on here but I really rated Toney and got plenty of stick off people for doing so. Now he’s stronger and has a bit more nouse he is pretty much the complete striker. He’s just unfortunate that at international level he is around at the same time as Harry Kane, one of the best to ever do it.
Toney was as green as grass when he played for us 17/18 years old? A Wembley winner hopefully a Euro winner this summer
It may be me then, but I have been several times to Bolton and never seen any grief. Pretty sure that if we got them in the final it would be more Oxford like than Millwall like.
