Football is a job like any other. Only football fans think it’s not. Here’s a little story from the past. A friend of mine played for Barnsley. Was here for a good few years. Turned down more money from other clubs. Kids in school. Settled in the area. Very happy. Turned up one day. Told he’d been sold. Asked where. Told it was a London club. Said I don’t want to go. Said you are going either way you’ll never play for us again. He ended up going. Wife stayed up here cos of the kids in school . They split up. He ended up pretty unhappy. But aye loyalty.

It’s exactly the same as a normal job for them. The fact that we can’t comprehend that isn’t their fault. I find the concept of a footballer being loyal mad.
