I don’t think it’s separate at all. His performances are what’s going to get him a ‘better’ move.

Ah, that’s such a bad analogy. There’s a million other things to take into account, for one, I don’t have 10,000 people cheering me on at work.

If we’re going to reduce football to the blandness of regular working life, we might as well pack it in.

Also a lot of people do stay in jobs due to loyalty. A lot more than people realise I think

This is seriously one of the weirdest things football fans do. Do you want him to say he's going to be here forever? If he said anything like that people would get on at him for lying and bring it up when he inevitably leaves (See Duff)

Football is a job like any other. Only football fans think it’s not.

Here’s a little story from the past.

A friend of mine played for Barnsley. Was here for a good few years. Turned down more money from other clubs. Kids in school. Settled in the area. Very happy. Turned up one day. Told he’d been sold. Asked where. Told it was a London club. Said I don’t want to go. Said you are going either way you’ll never play for us again. He ended up going. Wife stayed up here cos of the kids in school . They split up. He ended up pretty unhappy.

    But aye loyalty.

it’s crazy isn’t it. Bloke has ambitions and wants to do his job at the highest level possible. And it’s all ‘hang the switch”.

That story sounds like Allan Clarke, and how he's often been accused of talking to his players.
This isn't the time when he/we sent Trevor Aylott down to Millwall is it lol.

I would have also booked a few for their goal "celebration" of giving it ten ton to the East Stand inciting them.

Semi pro player scores in the FA cup against a team 4 tiers above them and you want him booked for celebrating.

    Christ.

It’s exactly the same as a normal job for them. The fact that we can’t comprehend that isn’t their fault.
I find the concept of a footballer being loyal mad. If they were rubbish then the fans/club wouldn’t be loyal to them.

to bring this back to the original post. The ref was garbage. Marginally worse than we were.

He makes a meal of it for the pen and the ref bought it.

Looks like MDG get contact with the ball because it changes direction when his foot hits it.
