That's awful, not just a cricketing legend, he was the epitome of the Aussie character & nature. Incredibly sad news.
Awful news, he was an absolute magician with a cricket ball. I'd say the finest spin bowler I've seen so far in my lifetime.
Just seen a post that his last Tweet were his condolences for the passing of Rod Marsh. What a cruel twist of fate.
Hits harder when someone from your era, set records that won't be surpassed master of his art. That ball to dismiss Gatting a thing of beauty comes to us all but please in the right order far too young RIP warney
Remember him getting Mike Gatting out with the so called ‘ball of the century ‘, he was a true genius with a cricket ball......came across as a top man too.
Shocking and sobering that And within minutes Liz Hurley is trending on that Twitter. I’m sure he would have a giggle at some of the comments, but even so…
I would always fear the worst as soon as the Aussie captain threw him the ball when playing us. My biggest regret is not seeing him play live.
News that's as shocking as it is awful. I had to read the headline three times to make sure I was reading it right. Immense skill, astute cricket brain and an ability to get under a batter's skin made him the best bowler I've ever seen. RIP
What a shock! I was lucky enough to be at old Trafford when he bowled Mike Gatting. Obviously didn't appreciate the delivery until later.
A true cricketing legend, gone far too soon, I only hope he and Rod Marsh meet on a cloud with a bit of spin and bounce. RIP.
