Not exactly pulling trees up at their usual level, what makes you think it would be even slightly more enjoyable watching us get slaughtered with them in the team?
They are but are out of their depth , 6 players under 21 with virtually no experience playing against quality players who were in the premier league last season, fans slagging the lads off about todays performance are wrong , it is the car crash all season on & off the pitch that is to blame not todays kids .
Nothing against the young lads selected in the last few games. They should never, ever, have been put in that position.
nothing against the young lads they have been left out to dry. At the same time I’ve spent 100 quid on travel and tickets today to witness a team not even going through the motions.
This last few games have been a sad indictment at where we are as a club. No strength in depth, fans turning away, no heart etc etc. The owners don't really care although i reckon there will have been some influence on who plays last few months from them. I fear the next instalment of their ownership or their exit.
I wasn’t having a go at the young uns. What I meant was that they aren't running away with their own league so why should they be expected to step up collectively when they aren’t ready , it could ruin their careers,
Sympathy to you JV for today & all the other travelling fans , you all deserved better but I do think it was totally men against boys & lets hope the outing has a positive effect for the young lads with the experience they will have gained although it could easy have the other effect & put a negative slant on their development , I do think though that these lads did not just go through the motions , they were trying but were totally out of their depth .
Who was the person who came on this board early doos to tell us about the shambllic preparation and terrible attitude of the players and what to expect this season?.....absolutely bang on! It marries to our running of the entire club with our owners of course. The message is clear from above....they have set the standard ......as all directors and senior managers have to.....that message is (as we know) that on the field success is secondary...they wish to build a portfolio of clubs, so they may buy and sell players.
Yea...it looked like young kids chasing around after an empty crisp packet on a windy day in the playground...but its looked like Iike that most matches. We need proper leadership
Kudos to @Robert_Goulet who got a lot of stick for telling us how this season would go before it had even started, which was brave to do off the back of one of our best ever seasons, as he could have ended up looking daft. https://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/worrying-times-ahead.306659/
Bremang and Sraha. Loaned out to Guiseley this season. Presumably a level of club we felt they would be comfortable at and able to develop. Have been thrown into the Championship. On what planet would anyone expect them to perform trying to bridge that gap?
TBH, I have pride in BFC & the town, it's not from top to bottom owd warrior. I would say from top to about, 2/3rds.
