Personally speaking, it’s how their time ended with us that determines my feelings towards them moving forward.

Players/coaches leaving after doing really well with us and wanting to better themselves (usually at a higher level), I don’t have an issue with and will wish them well and I want to see them do well as it’s sometimes a plus point for us as a club.

When they don’t leave on the best of terms, that’s a different story though. Duff and Winnall immediately spring to mind.

It’s absolutely bizarre. If you go Huddersfield’s tweet of the full time score last night there’s loads of Barnsley fans on there commenting. I wouldn’t mind if there was a bit of wit behind it & some comedy in there but it’s just abuse. I feel like posting ‘we aren’t all weirdos’ like these fans.

Depends on the player and the coach though doesn't it? I think that Cole packed up his bags and sacked it off, therefore I hope he doesn't do well. MLH, lied, then talked smack about us, I hope he fails.

Only three teams in our league will be playing in the Championship next season. We want to be one of them. Huddersfield are one of our biggest rivals for one of those spots. The chances that we both take up two of the three slots is slim. It's in our interests for them to lose games. We aren't going to be taking delight in MLH doing well.

Part of the reason why I left social media behind some 7 years ago, pretty unnatural for a mid twenties bloke to not have anything but I just can’t stand it. Full of children (or adults who act like children) posting abuse behind profiles that have no trace back to their actual identity. Was it Mike Tyson who said ‘social media made you all way too comfortable for disrespecting someone and not getting punched in the face for it’. If it was up to me, social media accounts should have some form of identification that can trace hateful comments back to said person and they can be dealt with appropriately by the authorities.

I agree with Duff, Winnall and a couple of others. I really don't get it with Cole. The lad had to play for one last big payday, even if he didn't wanna play for us. Virtually every player went backwards for us last season. I dont get how people are so confident he 'downed tools' (which gets said every time a player is not on form nowadays) rather than just lost confidence and was playing badly.

You can be out of form and still try, or you can stop trying and then be out of form.

Having listened to interviews with plenty of professional footballers who I'd consider to be "honest" (Adam Hammill for example) I'm pretty confident when I say that very, very few of them ever "down tools". It's not in their DNA. Just to make it as any sort of professional footballer takes so much application it's unreal. For them to make it that far and then stop trying is unfathomable. Obviously there are some like Nile Ranger, who have exceptional natural ability but piss it up the wall. But they're very much the exception.

Myself and many others have said the same thing you've just said countless times, but just seems to get wafted away bud. Like you say, very few players down tools. Ranger, Frimpong, Shea perhaps. But it's incredibly rare - especially when they're fighting for a contract, possibly their last one.

My last point on this. If this is the case, when managers come out and say there was a lack of effort/application from my team/some players today, are they wrong then? And managers never “lose a dressing room” then if they’re all giving it 100% and following the plan? Come on.

He's out for 6-8 weeks so won't be playing against us.

Tom Lees has spoke up about their next three games against big sides to see what their promotion chances are. Quite nice to be thought of like that.

Kevin Nagle not taking too kindly to fans comments on X! What an embarrassment the owner is engaging with the fans this way. MLH must be under pressure now.
